Synopsis

Zou Lin is from Longchuan, a fourth-tier small town in Guangdong, China. Born in a sexist family with a younger brother, she spent the first 20 years of her life following the path her parents had planned, including being a teacher in her home-village.

In 2024, when her parents forced her to marry a guy for his money, regardless of his impudence and sexual assaults, Zou Lin finally decided to run away from such manipulated life, from her home. This film explores the plight of women in backward areas and the way they fight for the control of their own lives.
